Herbert Barnett (American, 1893-1972) was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1893. He was a well known educator, painter, and lecturer. He held positions at the University of Vermont, Norfolk Art School, Yale University, Clark University, University of Cincinnati, and the Art Academy of Cincinnati (Dean, 1966). He lectured often for the National Association of Schools of Art. He died in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1972.
