Francis Brown was born in Glassboro, New Jersey in 1891. He attended the Herron Art School in Indianapolis and Ohio State University from which he received a Master of Arts Degree. He was a professor and Head of the Fine Arts Department at Ball State Teacher’s College in Muncie, Indiana from 1925-1957 as well as Director of the Muncie Art Museum. His work was exhibited frequently at the Hoosier Salon- Indiana Artists Annual, Herron Art Museum – Ball State College, Indiana State Fair, Indiana Art Club and others.
