Franklin Morris (American, 1938-2010)
Franklin Morris is a contemporary American artist who lives in Mansfield, Ohio. His artistic skills began during his childhood with a passion for drawing. In his early youth, he had opportunities to travel around the United States, and he spent a great deal of time in the West. Much of his early art was of Western subject matter- panoramic vistas, Indians, and majestic mountain scenes.
Though he was primarily a self-taught artist, his eye was trained and influenced by early twentieth century American artists who developed styles of Impressionism and Tonalism. He specialized in landscape paintings of New York City throughout different seasons of the year.
