Mark was taught to draw at an early age by his mother, Elizabeth Daly and Woodhull Young, a marine painter and curator of the Vanderbilt Museum. More recently, CW Mundy has mentored Mark in oil painting. Daly has exhibited in many group and solo shows. His work is in distinguished private, corporate, and university collections, worldwide. He has received prominent awards in national juried art exhibitions.
Mark serves on the board of directors and is a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society (AIS). In addition, he is a Signature Member of the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA), a member of Oil Painters of America (OPA), and Artist Member of the Salmagundi Club in New York City. Daly has studios in Maine and Ohio. He travels worldwide to paint.
Mark has been blessed with several God-given talents. Besides painting, Mark is on many published recordings including over 50 original compositions that include performances by Grammy winning artists. He is a Voting Member of the Grammys. He has a business background, is author of Ten Treasures, The Strategic Playbook for Business Success and Five Steps to Board Success. He has served on many business and not-for-profit boards. Mark has leveraged the wisdom from his musical, business, and life experiences to be a better painter.
Mark graduated from Cornell University's College of Arts and Sciences. He has a master's degree from The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

2018 - PBS TV (CET) filmed and aired a half hour segment with Mark Daly and David Hausrath (owner of Cincinnati Art Galleries) on Barbara Keller’s Showcase: CET.
2018 - White Boat Reflections accepted into Oil Painters of America (OPA) 27th National Juried Exhibition (Steamboat Art Museum, Steamboat Springs, Colorado).
2018 - Winter Flags accepted into the American Impressionist Society's (AIS) 19th National Juried Exhibition (Peninsula School of Art, Fish Creek, Wisconsin).
2018 - Sunny Clouds juried into the American Impressionist Society's 2018 Impressions Small Works Exhibition. Mark was one of three panelists discussing impressionist art during the Exhibition (Greenwich House Gallery, Cincinnati, Ohio).

2016 - Winter Flags won The Best Building in a Landscape Award in PleinAir Salon's International Art Competition (October-November).

2015 - Sunny Day juried into the American Impressionist Society’s 16th National Juried Exhibition (Trailside Galleries, Scottsdale, Arizona).
2015 - Six paintings published in the book: Stars & Stripes; The American Flag in Contemporary Art (E. Ashley Rooney & Stephanie Standish, Schiffer Publishing, 2015). Presidential Flags painting represented on cover: Stars & Stripes.
2015 - Impression: First Night Game won The Scorer’s Choice Award in The All-Star Art Invitational.
2013 -Flags, President's Day won The Dickinson Signature Award at the American Impressionist Society's 14th National Juried Exhibition (M Gallery, Charleston, South Carolina).
2013 – Glory Days won First Place (Gold Medal) at ViewPoint 45 (national juried exhibition).
