Calvin Cobb Hart was born and raised in Boise, Idaho, son of Irving Warren Hart, Jr., editor of the Idaho Statesman and Helen Logan Hart, artist. He served for 4 years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and then moved to NYC where he began his life-long career in advertising sales. He married Maggie Paff and within 5 years formed his own advertising firm. During his lifetime, Calvin served as President of the following organizations: the Monmouth Conservatory of Music, the National Association of Publisher Representatives, the Monmouth County Arts Council, the Holmdel Republican Club and also Opera Producer for the Monmouth Conservatory Opera/Operetta Society. Calvin was an avid painter of land, sea and cityscapes. A prolific artist, his paintings have won awards both locally and regionally.
