Impressionist landscape painter, Alfred Jansson (1863-1931) was born and studied in Stockholm, Sweden and Paris, France. He arrived to the United States in 1889 and was commissioned to paint a mural for the Swedish Building at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. He continued his art studies in Chicago and spent most of his life there.
Member: Chicago Artist Guild, Chicago Artist Club, and Swedish American Artists.
