Spectacular grouping of color stencil prints by Rookwood artists William Hentschel will also be featured in our current exhibition.
William E. Hentschel (1892-1962) studied at the Art Students League and the Cincinnati Art Academy. Early in his career, his enormous instincts for design were recognized, which fed his passion for decorative arts and surface design. Over the course of his career, he mastered pottery, textiles, leather, batiks and the air brush. He was an instructor at the Cincinnati Art Academy and worked as a designer and decorator at Rookwood Pottery from 1913 to 1932.
